I have a 1993 HD2500 with 180,000 miles on it. It started getting where it would start up then die, RPM's would go up and down. Alot of cranking would get it started again as long as the battery lasted long enough, then it would run but act like the RPM's would surge up and down. My problem was the o-ring on the bottom of the filter base. It was leaking and causing it to get air. It would die and then with alot of cranking it would bleed itself.
