My son & I are restoring a 1945 JD Model B and I ordered .045 oversize pistons for it from what seems to be a very knowledgeable and helpful tractor dealership that deals in antique tractors. When I gave the pistons to the machine shop, they claim that the pistons are too tall by at least 1 1/2 inches and could hit the head. The dealership is attempting to put the machine shop in touch with the piston supplier to hash this out. Meanwhile I am in a real crunch for time, since this tractor has to go to an Ag Mechanics show in about six weeks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
