i agree with bbott about lifting hay and "other light work". i lift and comfortably move 4x4 and 4x5 round bales with my jd 870 and rear bale spear. the ft end loader will lift them, but that's a lot of weight for the front of a compact tractor. i would consider something in the 40-50 hp. range with a front loader with a capacity of about 2000lbs to move those round bales. color not important. reliability is. my 2 cents worth.
