You may not be getting battery voltage to your solenoid when you push the starter button or turn the key. You should only have voltage on the S terminal when cranking the engine. Take a volt meter and check for voltage on the wire that is connected to the S terminal when you make an attempt to start the tractor. It should only have voltage when cranking the tractor. If there's no voltage when you try this, check back at your switch for voltage. Solenoids are very cheap I only paid around $5.00 for this one. Hal
