I cut the bale size down considerably--almost had equal sided cubes. Neighbor was tickled to get the bales of leaves for mulch on her garden! Leaves were so thick one time that I just pulled the baler across the yard, stopped, used a yard rake to push them into the baler pickup tines. DON'T do this with your hands alone and make sure the tractor brakes are locked. Damp leaves might pick up easier--and composting might be quicker. My .02 worth.
