2240 is closed center as the previous posters stated. Open center valves will not work worth beans. There is a place on the high pressure linea few inches ahead of the transmission hydraulic filter to tap high pressure oil for the loader, backhoe and any other hydraulic load. All hydraulic oil should be returned via the port in the hydraulic filter cover. If the cover doesn't have a port. Purchase the proper cover from Mother Deere.
