On a similar note, I put 55 gal drums without a lid in the grapefruit grove and fill them about half way with water. Grab a few fruit that fell on the ground and is rotting and toss them in for bait. Place a couple of blocks next to the drum for a ladder, next morning I have a minimum of one possum per drum and sometimes 3 or 4. Use a fish net to dip them out and dispose of them, toss in a few more fruit and your ready for the next night. Never have caught a rat in them yet, I guess it's to tall for them to get into....or maybe they don't like ruby red grapefruit?
