You never did say what tractor you were trying to put this Cummins motor in. There is a company out there, I'll try to find it, that will sell you the engine mounts, a different hood, and a different grill piece for the Deere articulated 4wd tractors to put a Cummins in there. In a 2wd or an MFWD tractor the 8.3 C-Series would be a whole lot more logical to use, that is what Case uses in there 7000 - 8000 and now MX series tractors and they cranked that thing up to around 300 hp give or take. Now they are using the 9.0 C-Series with the emissions choking them down. If you really want a Deere with a Cummins in it go buy an 8960 which had the Big Cam IV or an 8970 which had the N14. Make it an animal you could modify it to around 600hp but that requires pump, injector and piston changes. You could pull the factory engine out and install an N14-600 in there or even better yet put the ISX-600 if you want to spend money.
If you have enough time, patients and money anything can be done. It's just nuts and bolts.
