Set the air gap at .010, about the thickness of a cheap business card.You might also replace spark plug, sparks plugs do not last like they used to and we replace, especially if it is Champion plug, they are not worth a crap in two cycle applications, especially. You could also have saw dust in carb screen in carb. coils in chain saws just do not break down like they used to, so I would check a few other things first. jim
