In UK we have the following classes: Vintage(> end 59) trailed using predominantly Fordson N tractors and Ransomes RSLD and Motrac ploughs, Vintage mounted using Ransomes TS 54 and TS 59 pulled by IH 250/275, Ferguson T 20 and MF 35 being the most popular. Classic mounted(60-76) using Ransomes TS59 with tractors as vintage plus Ford 2/3/4000, MF135, David Brown 990,880 etc.. World Style which is open to virtually any conventional plough and tractor incorporating all kinds of hydraulic manipulation and reversible which is also a bit of a free for all. These two classes are dominated by Kvernlands but Dowdeswell and Fiskars are also popular. There is an additional class called High Cut or Oat Seed Furrow which is ploughed with a trailer plough (Normally Ransomes RSLD with long boards) behind which wedge shaped press wheels and `boats` are dragged to give an accentuated and polished high peaked furrow. The idea was to broadcast your seed which fell into the furrow and the harrow across the furrows to cover the seed. Look on the Society of Ploughmen website WWW.ploughmen.co.uk
