I use a JD "M" for snow removal on a 1/8 mile long driveway in SE MN. Even with chains and wheel weights, it simply doesn't have enough weight nor HP to roll a big snow off a 6 foot blade. Gave up on the blade and now use a 50" snow thrower on the "M" which make things more quick. Still not ideal (gotta work with what you have) but gets the job done. I would look for a MF135 or equivalent. It has good weight to HP distribution and won't cost big bucks.
