Agriculture is in very serious trouble here right now.Beef is in termoil all over Canada.Dairy is still sustainable, thank goodness that's what we have on our farm.Potato industry is suffering from high Can. dollar because it is reliant on exports.Tourism has suffered setbacks because of lower exchange for US travellers. It is still as beautiful as ever though.Lots of shiny equipment in fields during summer months.Lush hay fields, rows of full potato drills, barley swaying in the breeze as always. The rural communities are not doing well.At least 70% of high school grads move to Alberta to find a better living in the oil communities. There are alot of homes for sale.Business in rural areas are closing too. It's sad.It is a very beautiful place to visit, even a nice place to have a summer home.It is not a good place to move to raise a family anymore, very uncompetitive salleries and bennifits.
