I'm with you. While I do not wish to minimize the tragedy of something like this, the flying of flags at half staff is way over done these days. As I recall it is supposed to be a symbol of the passing of someone so great that the entire nation is in a state of mourning over the loss. The US flag is a symbol of our entire nation. I do not believe the govenor of a state has the authority to dictate how our countrys flag should be displayed. Maybe their state flag? Do not mean to sound disrespectfull but the US flag is an inportant symbol to we the people and the world.
