probably from over chokeing.The inside of manifold was wet with raw fuel and it runs down
and out.This happens on most updraft carbs,also when you run and shut off a cold engine it will drip.Float adjusting will not help this.Dont be
in a hurry to tweak the float,its probably ok the way it is.
