we always had fakes ones growing up, mostly because my mom was allergic to vaccuum cleaners! Anyway, we always have a real one now, we go out to a farm, select one, cut it down, drag it to the car, haul it home, set it up, drink some hot chocolate, watch the cats try to climb it, set it back up, tie it to the strairs so the cats don't knock it over agian, then decorate it. I'd never do it any different.
