Lance...if you had a copper wire(or copper anything) "dangling" from the vehicle so that it touched ground....how many miles do you think that'd last before it wore to the point that it didnt touch ground?
Although, I do applaud your thinking. I seem to remember propane or gas trucks that used to have a length of chain that drug on the ground for the same purpose.
Myself, unless the place I parked the truck was right next to where I store my excess rocket fuel, hydrogen, gunpowder, and TNT(those are all stored safely away from the vehicles, in a cardboard shack right behind the trash burning barrel), I'd just take the occasional shock and not worry about it.
