Don't be such a chicken. Heat a needle up red hot and you don't have to do much more than touch it to the nail and it goes right through. The doctor drilled a hole in my toe nail on my big toe years ago. I hauled can milk and was unloading off the top deck. I lost my balance somehow and dropped a full can on it. Don't remember ever feeling pain like that. Went to the emergency room after I took the truck home. Biggest problem was,the bit was dull and caught when it broke through,twisted the already throbbing nail. !@#$$%%^&*
