As it's running, pull the spark plug wires one by one and replace them one by one. The engine will change when you pull a wire that's working(meaning you're getting spark and cutting the spark disables cylinder). When you pull a wire and the engine DOESN'T(meaning you weren't getting spark anyway) change, that's the cylinder you need to scrutinize. That's the first thing I do when an engine is running poorly; isolate the problem. If NOTHING changes when you pull ANY of the plug wires, it could be in the valve train (valve stuck open) or in the carburetor (gummed up with old gas) Good luck and report back with any results or more questions.
