The worst we ever had was an Oliver 70 my father bought. It ran beautifully--when you could get it started.
My dad insisted on it being the tractor he would put on a belt driven feed grinder. Many a time, particularly in the winter, we'd belt it to a VAC Case that ALWAYS started, with a twist in the belt, just to start the Oliver before we belted it to the grinder.
If you ever killed the engine in the field, you might as well walk to a shade tree and take a nap for an hour, then go back. By then there was a chance it might start again.
