The Remington 22 pump is a nice gun but I'm not a fan of the way the barrel is attached to the receiver. Any gun that uses a scope which is attached to the receiver must have a barrel to receiver connection which is rock solid or else the bullet trajectory will be all over the place as the barrel flops around with respect to the receiver.
The Ruger 10/22 is a great gun but the first thing you will want to do is throw the stock into the wood burner and get an overcast stock with the right length pull to fit your arm length.
If you are open to a bolt action rather than a pump the Marlin bolt action with the micro-rifling is a very accurate gun so you may want to look at that one also.
