I read a great article in the "article archives" and can't find it now. Hmmmmmmm! It covered some of the great new improvements for maintaining our tractors, including alternators vs. generators, detergent oil vs. non-detergent and the great new acrylic paints vs. enamel and lacquer. The acrylic paints are tougher, maintain their luster and resist stain, from oil and fuel, better than anything before its time. Get the color code for your tractor and have modern acrylic car paint mixed at a better auto supply store. (One that supplies comercial repair shops.) They can also recommend the best primer for the paint you buy. Paint cost won't empty your wallet either.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
