I would used use a good grade of 3-tab shingles. I got over 20 years from the roof on my mini barn and they still were not leaking. I had the house redone and had them to do the barn since it was only a few dollars more. It may cost more, but you wouldn't need to worry about a new roof for 25 years. Some of those shingles are guaranteed 30 to 35 years. Slate would be another good choice we had this on all the barns, houses and machine sheds. Hal
