We used to alway drain radiators on tractors that sat over the winter. I am not suggesting what is right or wrong just what we used to do. I will add that we did not have any radiator or cooling related problems. To quote an owners manual from another manufacture of that time "CAUTION: In freezing weather be sure to drain both places.(referring to lower radiator outlet and motor block) Loosen radiator cap to prevent system from air locking, which will retard drainig. Stay near tractor and make sure system is completely drained.
