Dont forget the hassle factor... Older tractors have that hassle factor to them, you need to keep tinkering with them to keep them going. If you want the tractor to somewhat of a hobby and you enjoy tinkering then get the older N. Also find your local tractor dealer and see what they carry. The issue is parts, when you need one and the only part person is 5 hours away that means a wait of 1-2 days to get something. Same thing for attachements. If you have to order everything drive a good distance to buy it that really drives the price up. I know I have been trying to buy things for my 1962 tractor, however, the implements, while I can find them are spread across the U.S. and the shipping is almost the same price or more than the item and that is in the cases where the people are willing to palletize the item and take it to a loading dock somewhere, which most people are not willing to do. Also the newer tractors are much more compact than the older ones of the same power My father inlaw bought a used Kubota 1550, 15hp, diesal, rear hydraulics, 60 inch mower, 4 wheel drive. for about $5,500. It was used by a lawn service company - but it is a diesal and he has had it 4 years now without any problems to report. Martin
