Never had to research it much, so I can't say for sure - about the Bolens, Iseki, and Isuzu. I know when we got parts for the two and three cylinder engines, they were branded as Iseki. But, I also worked on some four-cylinder Iseki boat motors that were made by Isuzu. I think they swapped motors or shared licenses. Yanmar makes both engines and tractors - and when it comes to the Deere 650s, 750s, 850s, etc. - every part is made by Yanmar.
When we were selling the Bolens with the two-banger diesels, we also were selling Satoh diesel tractors about the same size - and those has little diesel engines were made by Mitsubishi of Japan.
