Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.The 40 series came out part way through 1978.Deere usually changed models around August. That would mean the last 30 series would have been built around July of 1978. As far as I know deere did not keep records of exactly which front ends were origionally on each tractor built. They were interchangeable. If the statements others have made here are correct, it could be much later. The 50 series replaced the 40 series in 1982. Its also possible a later tractor could have a front end changed by a dealer before it was sold new to a farmer, or the farmer could change it. Confused yet?
