We used to take the wide front off of our 706 each summer and replace it with a narrow. My dad commented that it was "just like a big M". We used it to bale square bales with and it was so much handier. We switched back to wide for fall disking, plowing, etc.
I have 16 acres of trees planted in rows that I need to mow inbetween this fall and I am planning on switching to narrow for that task. Since I dont row crop or have livestock anymore, I may just leave it narrow.
