Paul, you give good advice as usual. I painted the air cleaner tag in flat black, waited a couple hours, then tried using 400 sandpaper (finest I had). Worked pretty well, but the base still wasn't hard enough. Slight nicks removed paint below the letter line. Good enough to prove your point though. Now, I have mostly a black base, with some scratches and thin paint. Next spray, with time to harden, should be perfect. Thanks for the recommendation.
