The CT unit is most likely made by Prince or Cessna, either of which is a good unit. I have two Prince pumps, one on my backhoe,and one on my log splitter, and they've both been dependable for me. An external reservoir is a good idea, as is a filter, in addition ot the valves mentioned by Mr.G Sizing the reservoir depends on the use(s) planned for the pump, but I'd plan on 5 gallons as a pretty good average.
