I'm not sure how much cheaper the fram is.. but perhaps if they are say? 1/3 the price... change them at 3x the rate.. IE.. instead of 1 napa filter per year.. 3 fram filters per year.
Other good options are the prefilters.. or sediment traps.. perhaps even on a snorkel pipe. to get it up out of the dust.
Does your tractor use an inner / outter filter setup? If so... stay with a good quality inner.. and a cheaper outter and change more frequently.
I think I'd invest in an Oil anylisis now, befroe you change the fitler, and then again after switching to fram.. and make sure silicon was not going up.. if not.. go for it.
