Ahhh, looking for a mystery and jumping to conclusions--I assumed the Divco Corp tag was on the machine, not the engine. If actually on the engine, it's the Cont F4162 4cyl, as Brent found, (F162 in Ind/Ag use and PF162 in Power Units) and listed in some Divco listings as the F4-162. Divco trucks used Cont'ls exclusively for many years, and Cont'l owned Divco from 32 to 36 or so, and remained Divco's almost exclusive engine supplier up into the late 40s or so , which would explain the "Divco" cast into a cyl head that Dale recalls. If there's no makers tag on the machine, it looks like Brent called it: a neat little homemade with a Divco truck engine. Looks like a nice job, though.
