I recently changed my AC D-14 to 12v. I put headlights from an old myers snowplow on it. Yes, they are 12v. I hooked up the high beam side and then a month later the headlights blew out. Sothen I hooked up the low beam side and later they blew too. The marker lights never blew. The headlights are fused. I checked the voltage at the alternator and get a consistent 14.5 volts. I check voltage at the headligh and get a very erratic reading on my digital meter. I can't even read it because the numbers are changing so fast. I get that same erratic reading no matter where I check voltage in the system except at the alternator post. I checked all connections and fixed any that were questionable. Still getting same results. New headlights are working fine so far but I expect them to blow too. Any ideas?
