Can't comment on the 2 different Fram filters, but I do know that years ago the best filter available was made by Hastings. It was what they called a depth type filter, didn't just use paper pleats, but instead used more of a foam or sponge like material. For 3 bucks extra I have myself bought the better grade filters. Should mention I use WIX on the tractor, just my opinion a little better filter than the Fram or similar from the discount stores.
