Southern Indiana - extreme drought. Very unusual year. Corn harvest at 75% complete. Corn is dry out of field at 14%. Corn planted in late March early April. Yield average @ 140 bushel per acre. Test weight is normal - no dockage.
Normal for this time of year folks would just be starting harvesting and the corn would be 18 to 20% moisture at 180-200 bushel per acre.
Full season beans are just getting ready and will be a tad below average yield due to drought. Beans after wheat will yield way below average due to drought.
There will be a record number of acres put into winter wheat this year in our county due to the early corn harvest, most wheat is planted after corn rotation, record number of corn acres planted this year, and this years wheat crop acres were way down due to late spring frost that had many destroying the wheat crop and planting in corn. Also the price is really high.
