42 Champion looks about right; the dull grille was after chrome was held for the war effort, and the 41 grilles were quite different. Per the two pix in Std Cat Am"cn Cars 1805-42, the Champion (poor pic) doesn"t appear to have parking lights at the grille ends, while the Commander, and probably the President, do (better pic). Don"t recall if they pushed any out after WWII before going to the Leowy design, but if so they would"ve been chromed. Sez 29,678 Champions prod before prod stopped, but no breakdown of eight Champion models; can send serial # info if needed.
