I have a John Deere 285 that wont turn over but when I put a jump pack on it turns over and starts fine. The other problem is that the PTO will only work when the jump pack is hooked up once it is removed the engine starts to back fire and the PTO wont work. I am wondering if it is one of the relays under the steering column.
