My Dad had a propane combine that acted somewhat similar to your tractor only it would run a little longer before it would lose power and die. We went down the same road as you. Finally hired a mechanic to come out because harvest was ready (only time I remember my Dad hired someone to come out) and it turned out to be spark plug wires. I agree with the same line as Allan, check ignition system. The coil or condenser can give good spark at first then fail. And the spark plug wires also. If you really need the tractor replace it all; cap, rotor, wires, points, condenser and coil.
