It depends, I have a farm that I inhereted that was just about taken over by these pests. I've got a D19 that I pulled some out. I also had a guy with a cat dozer that couldn't push some out, I don't remember the size of dozer 5 maybe? Thorn locust have an enormous root system that sends out runners up to 100'. Next spring when they start to sprout back out you can spray them with a tank mix of Grazon and Remedy and it should take care of them. Good luck
