Well don't know how your HAIR LIP DUCK is set up , buti can tell ya this when i was running around the midwest buying and selling tractors i ran a 88 Ford F3504x4 with a 9 foot flatbed with a 460 Gasser 5 speed pullen a 28 foot tandem dual gooseneck , i never had a problem running with the large cars and passen them if i wanted to lean on it . And believe me that i use to load the wagon . if there was not two tractors setting on the deck then it was loaded with plows disks and what ever elses in i could stack on the deck . If i was buying emplements then there would be atleast two 4- bottom semi mount plows and a couple disks on top of that maybe a couple field culivators on top of that set of duals on the neck weights setting on the ft. of the truck bed evy inch of flat space full and it would run down the road with no problems . The only time that i felt that i had tomuch on was a 1570 Case with 30.5l32 tires on the back that were loaded along with not one set but two sets of huge wheel weights Not sure what that one tractor weighed but i knew it was more the a 1066 loaded and a 806 loaded weighed . I hauled both of them at once from Ill. to eastern Ohio together . The only time that it was had pullen was in the hills and the 460 had to work in third but never got below 35mph on the hills on US 30 east of I 71.Your truck may only have a 165--190Hp. engine and your gearing my not be suited for road work . Just like a big truck that is set up for pulling a freight box is not set up for doing heavy haulen or Dump trailer work . It may be able to run down the road over a 100 MPH but put it in the hills with a big load and see how it acts or try and get a big load moving off a hill . With the newer pick ups and one tons of today off the show room floor they are maken more pony power and more Ft.Lbs of torque then your truck is plus they are geared better for the most part.
