Neither one has an 8.1 or a 9.0.They both have a 456 in them and are speced as practically the same tractor. The only difference I can see is the HP and even that is only 10 HP. There may be other differences such as the cab or something else that the specs do not include.Their also apparantly the same weight.I would lean towards the 8430 because it has a quiter cab and has more HP.
