Ford 700 narrow front shaking front end

Help! I have a 1955 Ford 700 tricycle wheel front end. I bought it three years ago. Up until a few months ago, I could drive it at top speed in 4th gear on a paved road and it rode smoothly. Lately it has developed a shake and a shimmy in the steering mechanism of the front wheel. It shakes so bad I can't stop it unless I slow way down. I can't tell where the problem might be. What is worn, broken or in need of repair? What parts do I need? Anyone had this trouble before? Thanks so much, Paul
