Thanks for the help guys. I replaced the filter and found #40 chain links and pieces. Deducted that it must be from an earlier breakdown of steering components. They must not have cleaned all the parts out of the resevoir... Took the hydraulic pump off ( gear driven ) and found the problem. Pump teeth and housing destroyed from injestion of #40 chain pins. Looking for a new pump, Cessna 24308 RAJ, 170-21-707. Thanks again ! Dale
