Rear Tire Dilema - Opinions Requested - 560D

Situation - Knocked the valve stem off mowing. Didn't know the rear tires were filled with fluid. Bought the tractor from my Father in Law who didn't know there was fluid in them either. One Rim is too bad to repair, the other is going to have to be welded around the valve stem as its rusted, need one 14x38 rim for sure. Two new tubes as well. Farmall 560D used for Mowing, Moving Bales, Tilling, Spraying, dragging my fields after spreading fertilizer.
I had the local tire man break them down to get the rims fixed and gave him my fluid out of the tires. Dilema = I cannot afford new tires, the ones I have would make someone good pulling tires. They are Firestone Field and Road 15.5x38. They are really worn down. I have found some used 16.9x38 but am not real wild about putting a larger tire on the tractor. Someone told me they are several inches taller. Could any of you offer any advice? Advantages to Disadvantages. The pullers say the 15.5 are better and bigger tires are not better. What was the proper size for a 560D? Anyway, I just hate to spend money for tubes, service call for removing the tires and reinstalling when I dont plan on having them off for many years to come so that is why I am hesitant to put the old ones I have back on. I dont want to be doing this in a couple years again and pay all this money again. Thanks for your advice in advance...... Robert
