I'm not familiar with the "Garford" name but ,Yes,in 1918 there were 10 ton "Semi" Tractors being built and used. At the Mack Truck Museum at Allentown Pa. they have an "AC' model Truck/Tractor and a 30' Trailer unit both on hard rubber tires and dual wheel on Tractor rear axle as well as the Trailer. In 1918 Mack built 4100 AC Model Straight Trucks for the Army 's use in WW1, The Truck/Tractor was a modification of this AC Model with redesign of some parts ,mainly Braking and Gearing.
