: : : My folks need to know how to remove the main front
: : : seal from our 1961 Massey Ferguson 35 tractor. It
: : : is leaking transmission fluid that is getting on
: : : the starter. Any info would be appreciated.

: : Remove the engine, remove the input shaft housing, remove old seal and replace with new seal.

: : Remove clutch and flywheel and check clutch plate for oil contamination.

: : re-assemble - easy!

: WE have the engine split and away from the transmission.
: But, the shaft housing will not come off the transmission shaft.
: And THAT is the problem.
: Any answers??
I take it you have a split clutch.
remove plate below input shaft remove snapring on shaft put long threaded bolts in holes 3 & 9 0clock this will pull bearing ,removeinternal snapring on gear, thread 7/16 nf bolt into shaft, pull shaft out the gear has droped far enough now to remove the input shaft
now that's easy
