You didn"t say what kind of window (wood sash, metal etc) but by all means carefully check the attic, especially if there"s an attic or dormer window above your "leaking" window. My daughters place had a leaking window on the stormy side that they sealed and resealed, but didn"t cure until they went up and pulled wallboard off around the bottom of the attic window. It was the one leaking, the water somehow coming down inside the wall (without wetting or staining thru the wall) until it leaked out around the first floor window. Good luck.
