273 balers are low capacity balers. The best I've ever done was 150 bales/hr(verses my big square baler that can do the equivalent of 800/hr!). If they are over fed the bales will have one loose string. They work ok as long as you make good windows and know how to run a baler. For me, with the limited # of idiot blocks I do, a 273 works OK. A hesston baler is superior to all others when it comes to quality bales and capacity. As far as green hay goes, mine doesn't care. It will take hay that won't keep.
