As noted below, if you pull off one battery terminal and use a test light between that terminal and the battery post you took it off of, the test light should stay off. (very little current can actually be drawn by the electronics in the alternator, or anything else (that is turned off) on the tractor. If it does light, disconnect one thing at a time (and reconnect them if they do not cause the light to go out) until the light goes out. New batteries can be bad (been there and fought that battle with the retailer) so a bad battery is a serious possibility. JimN
