My dad was telling me that his FFA chapter had a tractor driving competition back in the 50's. One of the events was to get a 10' grain drill through an 8' gate opening. Can't remember if you had to go backwards or fwds. I grew up on a farm and was never any good at backing a 4 wheel wagon unless it was unhooked, on flat ground, and empty.
