Both of those mishaps are enough to make one cringe, glad the both of you escaped without serious injury, it don't take much.

Went to step onto the saddle tank step of an International 4300 truck, was delivering some 3'-0" dia. red oak logs to the owners father who was going to push them off the lowboy with a mid 60's Farmall diesel with a FEL, real nice tractor, the tank strap broke and I landed in the weeds right next to a pile of unfriendly cast iron or steel junk. Was thankful to have not landed on that pile or in the path of those logs he was going to push off.
